Control Panel Mechanical Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Control Panel Mechanical Engineer skilled in mechanical design, electromechanical systems integration, and engineering infrastructure development. This position focuses on mechanical architecture for MUI control panel asset design and roadmap, supporting large-scale engineering projects, product platforms, and preparation for manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and execute mechanical designs for control panels, electrical enclosures, racks, hinges, overlays, and integrated electromechanical systems to support engineering validation and manufacturing efforts.
• Develop mechanical layouts, sheet metal structures, mounting mechanisms, cable routing, and serviceability features for industrial and engineering use cases.
• Produce 3D CAD models, detailed mechanical drawings, tolerance analysis, and comprehensive design documentation for manufacturing release.
• Collaborate closely with electrical, firmware, and software teams to ensure seamless mechanical and electromechanical system integration.
• Assist prototype construction, engineering bring-up, problem diagnosis, root cause analysis, and implement corrective solutions for mechanical and system issues.
• Enhance designs through DFM/DFA principles to improve manufacturability, reliability, cost-effectiveness, and serviceability.
• Partner with suppliers, fabrication vendors, and manufacturing personnel to assess fabrication feasibility, control tolerances, select materials, and improve quality.
• Ensure compliance with mechanical safety standards, industrial regulations, grounding, spacing, environmental constraints, and enclosure protection requirements.
• Maintain technical documentation including BOMs, design guidelines, assembly instructions, validation reports, and engineering references.
• Support manufacturing handover activities such as pilot production, process validations, fixture reviews, and resolving production issues.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline.
• At least five years' experience in mechanical engineering focused on enclosures, electromechanical product development, or related R&D roles, preferably with control panel mechanical design.
• Proven background supporting product development stages from concept through prototyping, validation, manufacturing release, and ongoing production support.
• Strong expertise in sheet metal design, enclosure systems, electromechanical integration, and development of industrial equipment is highly desirable.
