About the Role
The Good Doll, a homegrown toy brand based in the Nilgiris, is seeking a passionate Video Content Creator to join their team on-site in Ooty. This role involves bringing the story of Nilah, their contemporary Indian doll, to life through dynamic video content aimed at engaging digital audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Transform scripts and content concepts into compelling shoot plans including framing, angles, locations, props, lighting, and styling.
- Shoot short-form video content for Instagram, Meta ads, and other digital platforms independently.
- Edit both self-shot footage and content from other team members, managing hooks, pacing, sound, subtitles, transitions, and color correction.
- Create multiple edits and versions from the same raw footage for diverse use.
- Produce content for both paid advertising and organic social media channels.
- Identify spontaneous content opportunities without always requiring formal briefs.
- Collaborate closely with another content creator and larger brand teams to enhance the volume and quality of weekly content output.
- Take full ownership of content production from ideation through planning, shooting, editing, and final delivery.
Candidate Profile
- Possesses 1 to 4 years of practical experience in video content creation.
- Highly skilled in video editing, capable of working independently with cameras or smartphones.
- Knowledgeable in composition, lighting, and basic audio techniques.
- Comfortable creating short-form videos and reels, understanding differences between advertising content and organic posts.
- Able to rapidly manage multiple content projects with agility and openness to experimentation and feedback.
- Collaborative and effective within creative teams.
- Committed to working full-time from Ooty to be close to the brand’s heart and story sources.
Work Environment and Culture
This is an on-site position located in Ooty, Nilgiris, offering unique access to the brand’s products, founders, designers, makers, and the production floor. The role encourages a balance between quality and momentum, valuing rapid iteration and creative expression over perfectionist delays.
