Job description

Overview

AlixPartners addresses critical and complex challenges by moving swiftly from analysis to impactful action, generating lasting value for companies, their teams, and communities they serve. The company values diversity and fosters an inclusive atmosphere that encourages authenticity, growth, and equity for all.

The role embraces a hybrid work model combining remote work and in-person attendance at client sites or AlixPartners offices. Travel requirements vary depending on client projects and team needs.

Role Responsibilities

  • Provide performance improvement advisory to companies ranging from healthy to distressed, helping them adapt and succeed in high-pressure industry environments.
  • Work across diverse sectors including Consumer Products, Mining, Restaurants, Financial Services, and Private Equity by deriving actionable insights from imperfect data.
  • Build, refine, and interpret detailed financial models to support decision-making.
  • Conduct market research and company analysis to aid business development and sector initiatives.
  • Support projects from growth strategies to operational turnarounds.
  • Draft and prepare client presentation materials effectively.
  • Engage directly with clients in meetings and communicate insights clearly both verbally and in writing.

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in finance, analytics, investment analysis, or related fields.
  • While consulting experience is advantageous, a keen interest in consulting and comfort working amid ambiguity is crucial.
  • Strong financial modeling skills, including model construction, scenario evaluation, output interpretation, and transforming insights into business-focused recommendations.
  • Effective project management abilities to handle and prioritize multiple tasks against deadlines.
  • Experience in interacting confidently with senior-level stakeholders to communicate analytical findings.
  • A dynamic, flexible, and adaptive approach suitable for fast-paced settings.
  • A strong drive to achieve ambitious targets.
  • Openness to diverse daily responsibilities including business development, market research, and client delivery as the Australian office grows.
  • Willingness to work beyond standard hours as project demands require.
  • Capability to work both in-office and remotely for full-time hours, including extended periods at a computer screen.
  • Commitment to embracing and promoting the company's Core Values and contributing to an inclusive organizational environment.

Education Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline is mandatory.
  • A Master's degree and/or MBA is preferred.
