Role Overview
As a Consultant in Application Security, you will play a pivotal role in assisting clients to recognize their security vulnerabilities and provide actionable advice to enhance their security defenses. Your responsibilities will include contributing to pre-sales initiatives, mentoring junior team members, and fostering continuous innovation within the practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct penetration tests on applications, networks, systems, and infrastructure, particularly for clients with complex requirements.
- Execute top-tier and emerging security testing services with excellence, while collaborating across a broad portfolio of practice offerings.
- Develop detailed and comprehensible reports that communicate security issues, associated risks, mitigation suggestions, and practical solutions.
- Lead client engagements with activities such as kickoff meetings, progress updates, and delivering presentations on findings and recommendations.
- Establish and nurture enduring client relationships, and identify opportunities to enhance value within current and prospective accounts.
- Collaborate with Customer Sales and Solutions teams during pre-sales to assist with scope definition, costing, proposal creation, RFQs, and tender processes.
- Ensure all projects meet key performance indicators related to client expectations, budgets, timelines, quality, and overall project success.
Preferred Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
- Possession of a tertiary degree in information systems, software development, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Preferred but not mandatory penetration testing certifications such as SANS, OSCP, CREST CCT (Applications or Infrastructure), or equivalent.
- At least 4 years of experience working as a security testing or cybersecurity practitioner.
- Proven track record in conducting penetration tests and technical security evaluations across applications, networks, systems, and infrastructure.
- Proficiency in producing clear, professional reports and effectively communicating risks, findings, and remediation strategies.
- Experience engaging in customer-facing roles including pre-sales, scoping, proposal development, RFQs, and tenders.
