About the Role
Become a vital part of a leading orthopaedic and spinal surgery hospital in Barlborough, where your expertise in anaesthesia will significantly impact patient recovery and care quality. We are seeking a dedicated Consultant Anaesthetist to join our advanced anaesthetic team, delivering innovative anaesthetic techniques that enable patients to be discharged on the same day after knee and hip replacement surgeries.
Responsibilities
- Provide anaesthetic care for elective orthopaedic and spinal surgeries.
- Conduct thorough pre-operative and post-operative patient assessments.
- Prepare detailed written communications for patients' general practitioners.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of consultants, the hospital’s Medical Director, and the local leadership team.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of Clinical Quality Standards.
- Engage actively in audit and clinical governance programs to maintain high standards of safe and effective patient care.
Requirements
- Current registration on the General Medical Council specialist register for anaesthetics.
- Minimum of several years of experience in anaesthesia, including at least 2 years practicing in the UK.
- Commitment to ongoing medical education and professional development.
- Willingness to participate in GMC and Royal College of Anaesthetists annual revalidation and reaccreditation schemes.
- Completion of mandatory training through in-house education programs.
