Overview
The Department of Laboratory Medicine is spearheading the creation of a state-of-the-art precision medicine service. This program aims to deliver advanced genomic testing across multiple specialties such as cancer genomics, familial hyperlipidaemia, renal disease, rare inherited disorders, and pharmacogenomics. The objective is to establish our institution as the leading regional center for cutting-edge genomic diagnostics.
Role and Responsibilities
The appointed consultant will be instrumental in guiding and developing this visionary program, providing expert leadership in the field of precision medicine to shape its future in the region.
Qualifications and Experience
- A basic medical degree from a recognized institution or postgraduate qualifications (MBBS/MD) eligible for registration with the Singapore Medical Council.
- Completion of training and post-graduate certifications such as RCPath, FRCPA, Molecular Genetic Pathology certification by the American Board of Pathology, or equivalents recognized by the Specialists Accreditation Board (SAB).
- Preferably 5 or more years of experience working in clinical laboratory environments.
- In-depth expertise in molecular genetics or relevant specialty area, with proven ability to manage complex medical cases and complications.
- Capable of independent work and demonstrated skills in patient management, teaching, and conducting research within multidisciplinary teams.
- Confident, proactive, and an effective collaborator within a team setting.
