About the Company and Role

Airswift is a global manpower provider specializing in Energy, Infrastructure, and IT sectors with a presence in over 70 countries. They are partnering with a major Oil & Gas operator to recruit a Construction Superintendent (Electrical) based in Ras Laffan Industrial City, Qatar. This contract position spans 36 months with the possibility of extension, working on-site with a residential requirement.

Work Schedule and Location

  • Location: Ras Laffan Industrial City, Qatar (on-site)
  • Workweek: 6 days per week, 10 hours per day

Job Summary and Responsibilities

The role demands frontline leadership in safety and technical areas to ensure electrical installation work is performed safely, effectively, and efficiently, adhering strictly to project timelines and compliance with applicable safety, quality, and technical standards.

  • Report to the Utilities Area Construction Division Manager.
  • Demonstrate visible leadership promoting a strong safety culture prioritizing people's wellbeing.
  • Review and provide timely feedback on electrical technical documents and related project non-technical submissions from contractors.
  • Ensure all tasks comply with company policies, contractual obligations, regulations, and standards.
  • Apply contract knowledge to engage contractors on scheduling, technical, and cost issues.
  • Maintain strong, open communication channels with contractor teams and internal company departments such as safety, quality, engineering, and business operations.
  • Participate in activity planning, risk assessments, and assist contractors in schedule improvements and mitigation strategies.
  • Verify safety standards by ensuring contractors conduct daily and weekly walkthroughs of construction sites.
  • Attend onsite planning meetings, safety briefings, and toolbox talks to confirm clarity of pending activities.
  • Collaborate with contractors to address construction constraints, ensuring compliance with project schedules.
  • Analyze and verify contractors’ daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ involvement in large-scale construction projects within Oil & Gas, covering construction, installation, fabrication, hook-up, and completion activities.
  • At least 1 year of supervisory or oversight experience managing service/vendor personnel or facilities.

Technical and Business Expertise

  • Experience with Oil & Gas operators, contractors, or heavy construction firms.
  • Strong knowledge of design standards, codes, specifications, and safety criteria relevant to fabrication, transport, installation, brownfield execution, and hook-up works.
  • Familiarity with offshore, onshore facilities, yard operations, and related project scopes.
  • Understanding of execution methods and risks concerning sour gas and LNG production facilities.
  • Experience working within large operational organizations in various functions such as Projects, Operations, or Subsurface.
