Job description
Job Overview
We are currently looking for a seasoned Construction Foreman to manage daily site operations for an interior renovation undertaking at a U.S. Embassy location in Ghana. This position involves supervising all on-site construction activities, coordinating efforts with subcontractors, and guaranteeing strict adherence to the safety, security, and quality protocols established by the U.S. Embassy. The ideal candidate will demonstrate effective leadership, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to maintain steady workflow while ensuring superior workmanship and site discipline.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and manage skilled labor and work teams engaged in civil works activities throughout the project.
- Optimize allocation and utilization of manpower, equipment, and materials to achieve efficient and timely project completion.
- Exhibit strong organizational capabilities by following established policies, procedures, and best work practices.
- Interpret and apply method statements, procedures, technical specifications, drawings, and other engineering or project-related documents accurately.
- Establish respect and strong working relationships with team members and other departmental staff.
- Communicate effectively, providing clear instructions to workforce for operational efficiency.
- Coordinate with other discipline foremen to maximize the use of available workforce for overall project success.
- Supervise workers involved in construction of industrial, commercial, and residential structures, assisting the Site Engineer with activities such as foundation layout, form work, concrete pouring, masonry, bricklaying, carpentry, plumbing, flooring, plastering, and painting.
- Ensure work crews have adequate tools, equipment, and materials and prevent unnecessary wastage or misuse of resources.
- Maintain discipline on-site by managing workforce attendance, safety compliance, and productivity.
- Strictly enforce company safety and quality assurance/quality control guidelines among team members under supervision.
Qualifications & Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in interior renovation projects, with a minimum of 3 years serving as a Foreman.
- Possess a Diploma in Civil Engineering or a High School certificate.
