Role Overview
The Compliance Specialist will support the regional compliance team in implementing and sustaining regulatory and licensing compliance efforts throughout the EMEA region, particularly in the UK. This role involves maintaining controls, procedures, and processes to ensure adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and codes related to insurance and warranty sales. Working collaboratively across functions to manage risk and enable scalable compliance processes will be critical.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain oversight of compliance obligations including company policies, license management for producers and adjusters, underwriting audit responses, and program monitoring.
- Handle compliance-related requests such as due diligence questionnaires, regulatory filings, and Appointed Representative filings and appointments.
- Develop and maintain compliance procedures and coordinate timely communication with regulatory bodies.
- Assist with preparing training materials for stakeholders to enhance compliance knowledge.
- Generate reports for management, board members, partners, and regulators.
- Monitor regulatory developments including FCA Consumer Duty changes, assisting with implementation as needed.
- Collaborate across teams to address periodic and ad hoc regulatory inquiries.
- Conduct periodic compliance reviews to identify gaps and support corrective actions.
- Provide assistance to executive and risk management teams as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 3 years in compliance roles within insurance or insurance-related industries.
- Experience with Authorized Representative filings and related compliance requirements preferred.
- Familiarity with insurance risk identification, assessment, and management frameworks.
- Knowledge of compliance analytics and both qualitative and quantitative risk evaluation techniques.
- Strong communication skills, capable of articulating complex ideas clearly and building relationships with key stakeholders.
- Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-growing, scale-up business environment.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred; postgraduate credentials or proven academic achievement are advantageous.
