Role Overview
The Compliance Officer will serve as a critical part of the compliance team, acting as the second line of defense within AmTrust International’s Governance Framework. This role involves guiding business owners to mitigate risks, ensuring adherence to regulatory and ethical standards, and providing assurance to the AIU board.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate regulatory compliance risks focusing on Conduct, Consumer Protection, and Operational areas, advising business owners on mitigation in line with the AIU Board’s legal and risk appetite parameters.
- Facilitate effective management of compliance risks through advisory support, risk-based monitoring, compliance control assessments, and staff training and awareness.
- Contribute to regulatory compliance remediation programs driven by horizon scanning and monitoring activities.
- Assist the Head of Compliance by regularly reporting on compliance risk status and recommending improvements for compliance systems and controls.
- Engage in tracking emerging regulations and guidance, communicating updates to appropriate business units.
Candidate Profile
Ideal candidates will bring solid compliance experience, especially in conduct and consumer protection within insurance or financial services sectors. Essential traits include strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, proficiency in MS Office, effective communication, adaptability in a dynamic environment, collaborative mindset, and confidence in delivering quality advice while constructively challenging existing practices.
