Job description
Position Overview
We are seeking a qualified and experienced electrician to join an established infrastructure services company operating across the UK. This full-time, permanent role based in Edinburgh focuses on delivering electrical inspection and maintenance services primarily to commercial and industrial sectors such as fuel retail and forecourt sites. The electrician will work mostly independently across regional client locations, ensuring all electrical systems are compliant with UK regulations and pass annual audits.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting electrical inspections, maintenance, and testing for commercial and industrial clients within the region
- Preparing and completing all necessary documentation including test certifications and Risk Assessments/Method Statements (RAMS) to uphold audit and safety standards
- Engaging professionally with clients onsite, discussing ongoing works and identifying additional service needs
- Maintaining communication with colleagues, management, and engineers about project progress and findings
- Working autonomously while valuing teamwork and regular collaboration
- Occasionally traveling with possible overnight stays to various regional job locations
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Approved Electrician with NVQ Level 3 in Electrotechnical Technology or equivalent certification
- Certification in 18th Edition Wiring Regulations and C&G 2391 or equivalent Inspection & Testing qualification
- JIB or ECS Gold Card holder
- Proven electrical hands-on experience in commercial or industrial environments
- Proficient in completing RAMS documentation
- Valid and clean UK driving license
- Right to work legally in the UK
- Strong dedication to health and safety compliance
Preferred Attributes
- Current or lapsed CompEx 07-08 certification is preferred; however, candidates with CompEx 01-04 or interested in gaining the certification will be considered

Compensation and Benefits
The package includes a salary of £55,000 to £60,000 including overtime, plus door-to-door pay and the use of a company vehicle. Overtime beyond contracted hours is compensated at time and a half, with additional allowances for overnight stays. Total annual earnings often exceed £55,000.
