Company Head Barista

Overview

The Company Head Barista at August Café, Mumbai is entrusted with the responsibility to uphold and enhance beverage quality, coffee standards, and barista capabilities across all café locations. This role serves as the central authority for barista training, technical guidance, and beverage innovation throughout the organization.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Identify one relevant and trending beverage each month, develop and standardize its recipe, costing, and preparation methodology, and oversee its approval and roll-out across all outlets.
• Maintain and control beverage recipes ensuring consistent taste, temperature, texture, and presentation across locations.
• Lead routine barista training programs including practical demonstrations focused on coffee preparation, espresso extraction, milk texturing, and bar operations.
• Conduct regular barista audits to ensure adherence to recipes, quality standards, hygiene, and bar practices, providing coaching and corrective actions where necessary.
• Support espresso calibration procedures, ensuring high coffee quality by monitoring dose, yield, extraction times, and adjusting grind settings appropriately.
• Manage bar operations and ensure strict compliance with hygiene and food safety protocols while minimizing beverage wastage and maintaining efficient workflow during service.
• Collaborate with management to address beverage-related performance issues, recommend improvements, and foster a disciplined, learning-focused team culture.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• 5 to 8+ years of professional barista or coffee industry experience, ideally with exposure to specialty coffee and premium hospitality environments.
• Demonstrated expertise in espresso calibration, coffee extraction, beverage standardization, costing, and training development.
• Proven ability to manage multiple outlets or locations.
• Strong leadership and communication skills combined with a high level of attention to detail and passion for coffee.
• Knowledge of bar hygiene, food safety, and quality control methodologies.
