Position Overview
The role of Community Builder in the UAE is central to growing Malt’s freelance ecosystem locally. This person will spearhead initiatives to boost platform usage and build loyalty by engaging strategically with top freelance talents in the region. They act as the communication link between the company’s global community approach and the UAE's unique marketplace, crafting local programs and hosting events designed to maximize business impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and customize global community programs for the UAE, ensuring initiatives resonate deeply with regional freelancers to enhance engagement and adoption.
- Manage outreach and connection-building within the local freelance community, identifying and nurturing key profiles via events, tailored content, portfolio curation, and one-on-one communications, turning them into active brand ambassadors.
- Develop and deliver a compelling lineup of events and relevant content (newsletters, articles, localized updates) that establish Malt as a prominent player in UAE’s freelance market.
- Collaborate closely with sales teams to align community efforts with business priorities, ensuring community initiatives support and propel local commercial growth.
- Forge and maintain partnerships with significant local bodies, such as Chambers of Commerce and freelance license providers, to increase visibility and continuously monitor community metrics for ongoing enhancement.
Candidate Profile
- Possesses at least 3 years’ experience in sales, event coordination, community engagement, or project management.
- Has lived or worked in the Middle East, preferably UAE, with a strong understanding of local business culture and economic dynamics.
- Independent and pragmatic, capable of launching new initiatives in a developing market environment with minimal supervision.
- Experienced in full lifecycle event management, including logistical planning, invitation coordination, and on-site execution, alongside managing effective outreach campaigns.
- Strong relationship-oriented approach with a talent for building genuine, trust-based connections and community interaction.
- Excellent communicator in English, with the ability to create captivating marketing content; additional fluency in French and/or Arabic is an advantage.
