Job description

Background

In a bid to enhance certain divisions within the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA), this role is vital for strengthening communications efforts aimed at maintaining a favorable public image.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and produce a high-quality corporate annual report with attention to design and content appeal.
  • Act as Editor for the Employee Newsletter, ensuring relevant and engaging content.
  • Compose, design, update, and produce future-oriented business materials such as corporate brochures, magazines, and feature articles.
  • Plan and coordinate trade fairs and exhibitions at national and international levels.
  • Organize corporate events including anniversaries and open day ceremonies.
  • Manage protocol services including travel arrangements, photographic and video coverage, documentaries, and guided tours of corporate facilities.
  • Lead community relations initiatives effectively.
  • Maintain and regularly update promotional content on the corporate website.
  • Recommend actions to management to address identified issues.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Humanities, or Social Sciences.
  • Master’s degree in Communication Studies, Postgraduate Diploma, or a related field.
  • At least a decade of experience in professional public relations.
  • Expert knowledge of regulatory, business, political, and cultural landscapes related to the ministry's operations.
  • Capability to identify issues, evaluate risks, and implement controls.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal abilities.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, networking, writing, editing, and research skills.
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure to meet statutory deadlines and obligations.
