Job description
Role Overview
Our client, a prominent global trading firm, is looking for an experienced Commodity Trader specializing in grain to oversee and expand its grain trading portfolio across regional and international markets. This position requires managing contract execution, developing markets, overseeing stakeholder relations, and driving business growth, collaborating closely with overseas branches and trade partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Negotiate and execute sales and purchase contracts with suppliers and customers.
- Oversee contract fulfillment, manage shipment timelines, adjust pricing, and handle futures trading operations.
- Identify new business opportunities and nurture existing client relationships.
- Analyze market movements, trade patterns, and competitor behavior.
- Work with logistics and shipping teams to guarantee prompt delivery schedules.
- Assist with risk management strategies, ensure regulatory compliance, and prepare profit and loss reports.
- Coordinate with regional and global teams to capitalize on trading opportunities.
Candidate Requirements
- Degree in Business, Economics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or related fields.
- Minimum of five years' experience in commodity or grain trading, feed ingredients, or agricultural commodities.
- Proficient understanding of contract execution, international trade standards including Incoterms, and trade operations.
- Experience with futures trading and risk mitigation practices.
- Strong skills in communication, negotiation, and business development.
- Established network within the grain or commodity trading sectors is advantageous.
Compensation and Benefits
- Monthly salary ranging from SGD 6,000 to 7,000.
- Annual wage supplement (AWS).
