Overview
The Brose Group is an established and leading supplier to the global automotive sector, specializing in developing, manufacturing, and delivering manual and electric components including mechatronic systems and electrical drives. With a strong heritage starting in 1908, Brose has evolved into a globally recognized provider of mechatronic components and systems, focusing on enhancing vehicle efficiency, safety, and comfort. The India branch, based in Pune, employs around 80 engineers dedicated to developing and manufacturing a range of automotive products, with plans to cover the complete value chain from component development to final assembly.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage procurement activities for metal commodities such as stamping, forging, casting, and lamination.
- Identify, assess, and develop new and existing suppliers to ensure quality and cost effectiveness.
- Handle the entire RFQ process including quotation evaluation, negotiations, and selection for new projects.
- Source and procure raw materials and components, focusing on opportunities for localized sourcing.
- Create, issue, and monitor purchase orders including managing any amendments or revisions.
- Lead annual supplier negotiations aimed at driving cost reductions.
- Formulate and implement commodity-specific sourcing strategies to optimize spend management.
- Promote localization initiatives to replace imported parts in both ongoing and new projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and maintain regular communications with global counterparts, particularly in Germany.
Requirements
- B.Tech or B.E. degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Extensive experience (12-15 years) in strategic sourcing, procurement, and commodity management within the automotive or manufacturing industries.
- Proven capabilities in supplier development and conducting high-level negotiations.
- Strong skills in cost optimization and driving localization projects.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably SAP, is necessary.

This position is based in Pune, India, with the candidate expected to work onsite in a dynamic automotive manufacturing environment.
