Commissioning Expert - Data Center Project

Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Commissioning Expert to lead and oversee commissioning activities for a data center project in Doha, Qatar. This role serves as the primary authority and contact point across multiple stakeholders including clients, project management consultants, end users, contractors, and commissioning agents.

Responsibilities

• Act as the key commissioning authority and liaison among Client, PMC, End User, General Contractor, and Commissioning Agent.
• Provide technical leadership and governance over commissioning tasks across Electrical, Mechanical, and Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems.
• Lead creation, review, and approval of commissioning documentation such as commissioning plans, tagging plans, FAT procedures, load bank testing plans, method statements, sequences of operation, IST procedures, and turnover deliverables.
• Manage and guide Commissioning Managers and Charge Leads in executing project commissioning effectively.
• Conduct and chair commissioning meetings, technical reviews, coordination workshops and stakeholder sessions.
• Track commissioning readiness status, identify risks, monitor progress, address deficiencies, and implement corrective actions to meet project milestones.
• Drive resolution of complex technical challenges ensuring compliance with project specs, industry standards, and operational needs.
• Prepare and present senior-level commissioning reports, recommendations, and status updates.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Building Services Engineering or related field.
• Follow minimum two weeks' notice period before joining.
• At least 15 years of extensive commissioning experience, particularly in mission-critical facilities and data centers.
• Demonstrated ability in managing commissioning activities including Integrated Systems Testing, operational readiness, and handover processes.
• Strong leadership capabilities to manage multidisciplinary commissioning teams and collaborate with key project participants.
