  • Assist the Contracts Director by reviewing commercial performance, CVRs, and challenging cost/value assessments.
  • Identify risks and opportunities in mixed-scope projects and drive consistent commercial processes and reporting.
  • Contribute to pricing strategies for mechanical, electrical, and fit-out tenders.
  • Procure and negotiate subcontract packages covering HVAC, pipework, controls, drylining, ceilings, flooring, joinery, and finishes.
  • Manage and certify subcontract agreements, payments, variations, claims, and final accounts.
  • Develop and manage detailed construction and commissioning programs; control budgets, forecasts, cash flow, and resource allocation.
  • Oversee procurement of plant, materials, and subcontract packages while managing variations and change control.
  • Engage in tender reviews, pricing strategies, risk identification, value engineering, and bid/no-bid decisions.
  • Administer contract terms, issue contractual notices, and handle variations and compensation events.
  • Support and guide junior quantity surveyors and commercial personnel, and contribute to the development of internal commercial procedures and best practices.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

  • Minimum five years experience in a similar commercial management role, preferably within mechanical engineering or building services.
  • Level 7 honours degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of both remeasurable M&E contracts and lump-sum fit-out projects.
  • Proficiency in Excel and commercial reporting; experienced with commercial or accounting software such as ABM.
