About the Role
We are looking for a seasoned Commercial Estimator to join a well-established commercial general contracting company. The ideal applicant will have experience in smaller commercial GC settings and be confident managing projects from bid preparation through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Compile competitive cost estimates and bids for commercial building projects.
- Analyze construction drawings, specifications, scopes, and tender documentation thoroughly.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing for projects with values between $100,000 and $5 million.
- Gather and assess pricing proposals from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Detect and evaluate project risks, exclusions, and factors that might impact overall costs.
- Collaborate closely with project management and operational teams throughout project duration.
- Adjust to modifications in project priorities, requirements, and schedules effectively.
- Ensure meticulous record-keeping of all estimating data and supporting documents.
Candidate Qualifications
- Previous employment with a smaller commercial general contracting firm is mandatory.
- Demonstrated success in bidding commercial projects ranging from $100K to $5M.
- Comprehensive knowledge of commercial construction procedures, pricing strategies, and subcontract scope management.
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities with flexibility and resilience.
- Excellent attention to detail paired with strong organizational and communication skills.
- Capacity to work autonomously while maintaining effective team collaboration.
