Role Overview

We are seeking a Combat Designer passionate about enemy behavior, attack abilities, and hitboxes. This role involves close collaboration with visual effects artists and animators to create combat scenarios that are both exhilarating and challenging. The successful candidate will contribute significantly to the design and implementation of combat encounters in an upcoming action RPG based on a renowned fantasy intellectual property.

Primary Responsibilities

• Establish combat behaviors for various characters including enemies, allies, and bosses.
• Engage in active collaboration with cross-functional teams across disciplines.
• Implement diverse enemy units and combat encounters by working within cross-disciplinary environments.

Candidate Requirements

• At least two years of experience in game design.
• Proven background in designing boss encounters for action or role-playing games.
• Competence in general scripting tasks.
• Strong communication skills facilitating effective collaboration across departments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing cooperative multiplayer games.
• Familiarity with isometric ARPG combat mechanics.

Additional Information

This position offers a hybrid work setup requiring onsite presence three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday) at our studios located in Toronto, Ontario.

Compensation

Annual salary typically ranges between CAD 60,000 and CAD 80,000, varying based on your credentials and experience.
