About the Role

Join Kicking Horse Coffee as a Coffee Operator where passion meets purpose. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and roast coffee beans according to established recipes and profiles, maintaining premium quality standards.
  • Operate roasting and packaging machinery, including using HMI touch screens, to process coffee through to final packaging.
  • Conduct inspections of finished products, ensuring quality control compliance.
  • Assist in minor equipment troubleshooting and collaborate with the Maintenance department.
  • Safely transport raw and processed coffee using a forklift within the production facility.
  • Perform daily cleaning and prep work on equipment such as hoppers, pipes, de-stoners, bins, and silos.
  • Input data into ERP systems for tracking coffee batches, recipes, material allocation, and inventory management.
  • Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and quality protocols.
  • Engage in Kaizen continuous improvement activities.
  • Cross-train in various production areas including roasting, packing, and warehousing.

Candidate Requirements

  • Physical capability to lift between 25-50 lbs with team assistance and handle repetitive manufacturing line tasks involving lifting, pushing, twisting, and bending for up to an 8-hour shift.
  • Basic computer proficiency and experience in data entry; familiarity with Microsoft Excel is advantageous.
  • Understanding and commitment to workplace safety standards and the ability to learn and follow operational policies and instructions.
  • Prior experience in production or manufacturing environments, especially utilizing production or packaging machinery, is beneficial.
  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain one.
  • Legal authorization to work in Canada.

Work Details

  • Position based on-site in Invermere, British Columbia.
  • Full-time permanent role, typically working 40 hours per week on 8-hour shifts with paid half-hour lunch breaks.
  • Hourly wage set at $25.67, with additional premiums for skills, shift types, and responsibilities such as training and leadership roles.
  • Shift times range from 5 AM to 11 PM, including weekends.
