Role Summary

This is a full-time remote position for a Coding Mentor aligned with UK and USA working hours. The role centers on teaching coding to young learners in a lively, engaging, and age-appropriate way. You will help students understand programming and computational concepts, keep the classroom interactive, and offer guidance that encourages problem-solving and steady progress.

Key Focus Areas

  • Plan and conduct coding sessions that are interesting and suitable for children aged 5 to 18.
  • Create a supportive virtual classroom environment that keeps students involved and motivated.
  • Break down programming concepts into simple, practical explanations.
  • Strengthen students’ critical thinking and analytical abilities through lessons and exercises.
  • Give helpful feedback and individual support when students face challenges.

Required Background

  • Solid knowledge of programming, preferably in Python, Java, JavaScript, or comparable languages.
  • Prior experience teaching coding to children or younger learners.
  • Ability to build and deliver lessons that match different age groups and learning levels.
  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, reasoning, and analytical capabilities.
  • Previous mentoring or leadership experience in coding bootcamps, workshops, or school settings.
  • Comfort working across UK and USA shifts.
  • Exposure to educational platforms or teaching tools will be a plus.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Education, or a closely related field is preferred.
