Role Summary

This full-time, on-site position in Cork involves operating company coaches along scheduled routes, private charters, tours, and school transportation. Key duties include conducting vehicle inspections before and after trips, following designated routes and timetables, and adhering strictly to road safety and transport regulations. The driver assists passengers during boarding and disembarking, manages luggage, and offers courteous, clear information and guidance. Maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of the coach, reporting maintenance issues promptly, and completing required logs are also part of the role. Flexibility regarding weekday, weekend, and occasional evening shifts is necessary.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Proven commercial driving experience with coaches or similar large vehicles, demonstrating safe operation skills.
  • Must hold a valid commercial driving license (such as Category D or equivalent) with a clean driving record.
  • Possession of a current CPC Card and Driver Tacho Card.
  • Successful Garda/Police Vetting clearance is mandatory.
  • Strong communication capabilities to effectively engage with passengers, colleagues, and dispatch, including clear speaking and active listening.
  • Excellent customer service aptitude to support passengers, manage inquiries, and professionally represent the company.
  • Sound knowledge of Cork and surrounding regional routes alongside thorough understanding and compliance with traffic and transport laws.
  • Competent in performing basic vehicle safety inspections and promptly reporting mechanical issues; committed to safe driving practices.
  • Reliable and punctual work ethic with willingness to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays as needed.
  • Previous experience in passenger transport or bus/coach driving is advantageous.
