Job description
Overview
Our client, located in Essex, specialises in designing and manufacturing high-performance engineering components for technically demanding sectors. They are seeking a skilled CNC Miller to join their team in Basildon, focusing on precision parts with strict tolerances and a variety that changes from one job to another.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret engineering drawings accurately and confidently.
- Choose appropriate tooling and independently program, set up, and operate 3- and 4-axis machining centers equipped with Heidenhain controls.
- Manage small batch productions and one-off machining projects, frequently working on large castings.
- Identify and communicate any machining issues and propose potential improvements during the process.
- Maintain a professional and safe environment on the shop floor at all times.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Proven CNC milling experience, with preference given to candidates from automotive or aerospace industries.
- Ability to set up and run your own machines rather than just operating pre-set programs.
- Strong ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Calmness and precision under pressure, coupled with self-driven problem-solving skills without needing constant supervision.
- Experience working with Heidenhain controls is essential; familiarity with Hypermill software is an advantage.

- Competitive hourly wage with additional pay for overtime.
- Access to a pension scheme for long-term financial planning.
Additional Information
