Cloud Solution Architect

Overview

We are looking for a seasoned and strategically minded Cloud Solution Architect experienced in designing and delivering secure, scalable, resilient, and cost-effective cloud infrastructures. This senior-level position involves collaborating closely with various stakeholders including business leaders, engineers, infrastructure teams, security experts, DevOps professionals, and technology executives to craft contemporary cloud architectures that facilitate digital transformation and meet long-term technology goals.

Key Duties

• Architect holistic cloud solutions compliant with business needs, technical criteria, and enterprise architecture norms.
• Develop robust, scalable, secure, and highly available cloud solutions across application, infrastructure, data, and integration domains.
• Assess and propose suitable cloud platforms, services, technologies, and architectural patterns.
• Design and deploy solutions leveraging AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or comparable cloud ecosystems.
• Lead initiatives related to cloud migration, modernization, transformation, and optimization.
• Create cloud architecture diagrams, technical designs, blueprints, standards, and comprehensive documentation.
• Design cloud-native applications incorporating microservices, containerization, serverless models, APIs, and event-driven designs.
• Collaborate with Software Engineering, DevOps, Infrastructure, Data, Cybersecurity, and Operations teams throughout project life cycles.
• Formulate integration strategies for applications, databases, APIs, third-party systems, and enterprise platforms.
• Ensure cloud implementations comply with security, compliance, governance, availability, performance, and disaster recovery standards.
• Establish controls for cloud security including identity/access management, network setup, encryption, monitoring, and logging protocols.
• Identify and recommend optimizations for cloud infrastructure efficiency, resource use, performance, and cost-reduction.
• Support infrastructure-as-code practices using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation and advocate automated deployment methodologies.
• Offer expert technical advice through development, testing, deployment, and production stages.
• Review engineering designs and provide architecture guidance to projects and teams.
• Spot risks, dependencies, constraints, and architectural shortcomings and prepare suitable mitigation plans.
• Develop future-focused cloud technology roadmaps to aid modernization efforts.
• Investigate emerging cloud technologies and recommend solutions delivering business and operational benefits.
• Mentor junior engineers and technical staff on cloud architecture standards and best practices.
• Present architecture decisions and solution proposals effectively to senior management, technical leads, and business stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in Cloud Architecture, Solution Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, or related cloud engineering roles.
• Proven hands-on capability in designing and executing enterprise-level cloud solutions.
• Strong expertise with at least one primary cloud platform such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Familiarity with multi-cloud, hybrid cloud setups, and cloud migration strategies.
• In-depth knowledge of networking, compute, storage, databases, identity management, security, and cloud infrastructure components.
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps methodologies, and Infrastructure as Code is desirable.
• Understanding of microservices, APIs, serverless computing, event-driven architecture, and distributed systems.
• Advantageous experience designing cloud-centric data platforms, analytics environments, application platforms, or enterprise integrations.
• Comprehensive knowledge of cloud security, governance, compliance, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
• Familiarity with cloud cost management, resource optimization, and FinOps concepts preferred.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and architectural design proficiency.
• Excellent communication skills with capability to articulate complex technical topics to diverse audiences.
• Background working in Agile, Scrum, DevOps, or hybrid development environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or similar fields is preferable.
• Certifications like AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, or TOGAF are beneficial.
