Job description
About the Opportunity
As Cloud Platform Architect at Farmlands Co-operative Society Limited, you will spearhead the transformation of our cloud platform by establishing the architectural foundation, governance, and automation frameworks essential for next-gen digital delivery. Joining at a pivotal stage, you will inherit a complex cloud environment and build the necessary disciplines to advance its maturity. This role offers the chance to architect network and platform components from scratch, including virtual networks (VNet and VPC), hybrid connectivity, segmentation, and an overarching governance layer. Your work will enable a modern, secure, and scalable cloud infrastructure that supports faster innovation, cloud-native development, and the responsible adoption of Agentic AI throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and sustain Farmlands’ cloud architecture strategy across Azure and AWS platforms encompassing network designs such as VNet and VPC, hub-and-spoke topology, hybrid connections (ExpressRoute, VPN), DNS management, and segmentation.
- Champion Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation initiatives to create scalable, repeatable platforms that minimize manual interventions, ensuring infrastructure consistency, including network components deployed entirely via code.
- Architect secure-by-default cloud infrastructures by embedding security, compliance, and policy enforcement from the network level upwards.
- Implement financial operations (FinOps) best practices within the cloud environment by setting cost baselines, enforcing resource tagging and governance, right-sizing workloads, and removing inefficiencies as standard operating procedures.
- Bridge the gap between infrastructure and development teams by building governed platforms that provide patterns, guardrails, and self-service features, empowering development teams to confidently leverage Agentic AI technologies and propel product innovation.
About You
- Demonstrated expertise in designing and delivering enterprise-grade cloud architectures across Azure and AWS, specifically with network-focused components such as VNet/VPC designs, subnetting, peering, hybrid connectivity solutions, DNS, and network security frameworks.
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform) and continuous integration/delivery (CI/CD) systems like GitHub Actions, with practical experience deploying network infrastructure purely through code.
- Strong knowledge of cloud security principles, including Zero Trust models, network segmentation strategies, policy-as-code implementation, identity and access management, and governance frameworks.
- Experience effectively optimizing cloud environments for scalability, reliability, performance, and cost-efficiency.
- A pragmatic, hands-on approach coupled with excellent stakeholder engagement skills and a genuine interest in practical AI applications to enhance architecture, infrastructure deployment, and operational workflows.
Benefits
- Flexible work arrangements with free onsite parking facilities.
- Immediate access to sick leave, paid birthday leave, options for purchasing additional leave, and service-related benefits.
- Access to continuous learning via the Greenhouse online training library.
- Employee discounts at Farmlands retail outlets.
- Exclusive shareholding opportunities granting discounts through partnered companies.
- Pet-friendly office space, vibrant café culture locally, and a strong, collaborative team environment.
