Role Overview

As a Cloud Architect Manager within Artefact, you will lead the design, deployment, and management of scalable, secure cloud solutions that underpin clients’ technology and data ecosystems. Collaboration with both technical teams and business leaders is essential to align cloud strategies with corporate goals while optimizing for cost, scalability, and appropriate tooling. This role additionally involves mentoring engineers, guiding teams, and driving innovation to support Artefact’s strategic growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead architecture design and deployment of cloud infrastructures, including public cloud, on-premises, and hybrid models, tailored to business needs.
• Establish and uphold best practices for cloud platform setup including security, networking, operations, and tool selection.
• Manage integration of cloud platforms with data pipelines, storage solutions, and compute environments.
• Create standardized coding, deployment, and monitoring processes across all cloud environments.
• Build and deploy automated mechanisms for cloud infrastructure setup, monitoring, and optimization.
• Resolve complex technical problems associated with cloud environments.
• Provide leadership on multiple cloud initiatives ensuring efficient resource allocation.
• Mentor and coach cloud engineers to promote teamwork and knowledge sharing.
• Maintain client engagement concerning project targets, timelines, and deliverables.
• Support Artefact’s growth by sustaining technical partnerships, developing proposals for projects, and identifying expansion opportunities within clientele.

Qualifications and Skills

• Extensive experience designing and executing scalable Azure cloud architectures.
• In-depth knowledge of cloud security frameworks, network design, and regulatory compliance.
• Led deployment of highly available, secure, and cost-effective Azure environments using services like Azure Virtual Network, AKS, and Azure App Service.
• Architected multi-region disaster recovery and high availability setups leveraging Azure Traffic Manager, paired regions, and Azure Site Recovery with recovery times under one hour for critical workloads.
• Implemented automated patch management, scaling, and monitoring leveraging Azure DevOps YAML pipelines and PowerShell DSC to boost operational efficiency.
• Expertise in cloud cost management, monitoring strategies, and high availability design patterns.
• Collaborated closely with data engineering teams to optimize solutions involving Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, Synapse, and MS Fabric.
• Strong leadership experience managing technical teams and complex projects.
• Excellent communication skills with competence in creating business-oriented presentations.
• Proven aptitude for solving multifaceted cloud infrastructure challenges.
• Experience managing senior-level stakeholders and client discussions effectively.
• Ability to mentor and nurture cloud engineering teams following best practices.
