Cloud and Infrastructure Solutions Architect - Presales Expert

About the Role

We are looking for a Presales Cloud Solutions Architect to collaborate closely with pursuit teams, subject matter experts, and leadership to design and deliver sophisticated customer transformation projects. This role focuses on solution architecture for public cloud (AWS, Azure), hybrid cloud, and on-premises infrastructure modernization.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver consultative solution architecture and technical sales assistance for major client opportunities.
• Translate customer business imperatives into effective, scalable, and cost-efficient technical solutions.
• Create designs for public clouds (GCP, AWS, Azure), hybrid and multi-cloud infrastructures including landing zones, governance, automation, and operational frameworks.
• Develop detailed and high-level architecture documentation, bills of materials, migration strategies, and technical solution descriptions.
• Lead workshops, discovery meetings, and collaborative whiteboard sessions with clients.
• Design modernization strategies for legacy on-premises environments including servers, virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), storage, networking, security, firewalls, load balancers, backup and disaster recovery, operating systems, databases, middleware, and container platforms like Docker, Kubernetes, AKS, and EKS.
• Formulate cloud migration approaches encompassing rehost, re-platform, refactor, and consolidation methods.
• Conduct or lead proofs of concept and demonstrations to validate proposed solutions.
• Engage confidently with senior stakeholders to discuss IT strategy, cloud adoption plans, and modernization efforts.
• Establish trustful relationships to position the company as a strategic technology advisor.
• Provide consultative support to sales pursuit teams and leadership, and mentor junior architects.
• Develop comprehensive technical and commercial proposals, addressing architecture, migration scope, delivery, and cost modeling.
• Collaborate with cloud vendors to optimize solution costs and identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
• Support request for information/proposal responses and assist in deal strategy formulation.
• Contribute thought leadership by publishing white papers, reference architectures, and best practice documents.
• Offer field insights and client feedback to help improve the cloud portfolio and service offerings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of experience in systems integration with practical exposure to hybrid infrastructure.
• Minimum 5 years in solution architecture within pre-sales, consulting, or architectural roles.
• Proven expertise in designing and selling cloud, hybrid cloud, and infrastructure modernization solutions.

Technical Expertise

• Proficient with GCP, AWS, Azure, Oracle, IBM public cloud architectures including IaaS, PaaS, cloud-native services, identity management, governance, and automation.
• Expertise in hybrid cloud environments integrating on-premises and cloud systems.
• Experience with core traditional infrastructure: compute, virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V), enterprise storage, networks, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Knowledgeable in disaster recovery and high availability, including backup solutions, multi-AZ/region designs, and failover processes.
• Hands-on with container platforms such as Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes, AKS, and EKS.
• Understanding middleware and database sizing, upgrading, and modernization.
• Skilled in automation and DevOps tools like Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiar with cloud security concepts across identity, policy, and network layers.
• Experience with cloud migration utilities like Google Migration Center and Azure Migrate.
• Familiarity with cloud orchestration, monitoring tools, multi-cloud governance, and FinOps principles.
• Integration experience with third-party tools and ISV technologies in cloud contexts.

Soft Skills

• Fluency in Arabic and English, both verbal and written.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills to convey complex technical solutions to both executive and technical audiences.
• Strong leadership presence, consultative engagement approach, negotiation aptitude, and storytelling capability.
• Proven ability to navigate ambiguity, lead solution development independently, and collaborate cross-functionally.

Preferred Certifications

• GCP Professional Cloud Architect Certification
• AWS Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional) or Microsoft Azure Architect Technologies/Design
• Certifications from VMware, Cisco, Red Hat, or storage vendors
• TOGAF or equivalent architecture framework credentials are a plus
