Founded in 2014, the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy (AGDA) supports the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation by preparing diplomats and government officials through specialized training and research. AGDA is recognized as a leading regional center for foreign policy expertise, focusing on Middle Eastern issues and equipping its graduates to represent the UAE internationally at the highest levels.

Centre for Climate Diplomacy

The Centre for Climate Diplomacy at AGDA advances research and diplomatic efforts surrounding climate change to inform and guide the UAE's foreign policy. Its thematic research areas include Energy Transition, Adaptation & Resilience, Sustainable & Climate Finance, Climate Security & Diplomacy, and Corporate Sustainability. The center is focused on promoting sustainable initiatives and active participation in global climate frameworks.

Role Responsibilities

The Non-Resident Research Fellow will be responsible for:

• Conducting lectures and interactive webinars either virtually or onsite.
• Helping coordinate panels and workshops related to climate diplomacy.
• Producing policy reports and working papers, as well as reviewing submissions from external contributors.
• Serving as a representative of the Academy in pertinent forums and discussions.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate has proven research experience in at least one of the identified research domains within climate policy and diplomacy. A strong background in academic research, government, or similar sectors is essential. The fellow should be driven to influence and promote climate actions relevant to the UAE, the MENA region, and globally. This is a compensated role lasting one year with potential renewal.
