Role Overview

The Clerk position is an on-site, part-time role based at the Real Canadian Superstore location in Coquitlam, British Columbia. The Clerk supports the daily operations of the store by replenishing shelves, rotating and facing products, and ensuring aisles and workspaces remain clean and orderly. The role includes assisting customers in locating products, responding to inquiries, and delivering courteous service consistently. Tasks may also involve pricing, signage placement, inventory verification, and managing returns or adjustments adhering to store policies.

Responsibilities

• Replenish and organize merchandise shelves, ensuring proper product rotation and facing.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of aisles and work areas to provide a pleasant shopping environment.
• Assist customers with product information and direct them as needed in a professional and courteous manner.
• Support pricing and signage updates, conduct inventory checks, and process returns or adjustments according to policies.
• Follow health, safety, and food-handling protocols diligently to uphold store standards.
• Collaborate effectively with team members and complete tasks delegated by supervisors.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Ability to offer friendly, clear communication and professional customer service to shoppers and colleagues.
• Keen attention to detail for tasks such as stocking, product labeling, and maintaining store organization.
• Physical capability to stand for long periods, lift moderate weights safely, and handle merchandise movement.
• Basic proficiency in numeracy and literacy for activities like pricing, signage reading, inventory counting, and following instructions.
• Dependability demonstrated through consistent attendance, punctuality, and adherence to store policies and safety procedures.
• Ability to manage priorities and adapt efficiently within a fast-paced retail setting.
• Previous retail or grocery experience is beneficial but not mandatory; training will be provided on the job.
• Flexible availability to work various shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
