Role Overview
The Cleaning Specialist position is contracted full-time and based on-site in Port Moresby. This role entails executing scheduled cleaning activities across residential and commercial sites, which include tasks such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and disinfecting surfaces.
- Cleaning of bathrooms and kitchens
- Emptying trash receptacles
- Maintenance of floors and carpets
- Ensuring glass surfaces and windows are left spotless and streak-free
The position demands adherence to safety and hygiene regulations, proficient operation of cleaning devices and materials, identification and reporting of repair or maintenance requirements, plus effective communication with supervisors and clients regarding on-site matters. Punctuality, dependability, and capacity to work autonomously or collaboratively to meet quality benchmarks and deadlines are essential.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Experience in cleaning residential homes, including routine home and house cleaning tasks
- Familiarity with commercial cleaning standards and workplace hygiene practices
- Skills in safely cleaning windows, including the use of ladders and appropriate equipment
- Knowledge of carpet maintenance, such as vacuuming, stain treatment, and general care
- Ability to follow established cleaning schedules, instructions, and safety measures including proper use of personal protective equipment
- Strong focus on detail, dependability, and effective time management
- Physical capability to perform manual labor including lifting, bending, and standing for long durations
- Basic communication skills to interact with supervisors, colleagues, and customers
- Prior professional cleaning or maintenance experience is preferred
