Job Overview

This full-time role involves comprehensive housekeeping duties within the hospital environment, requiring availability across various shifts including days, evenings, nights, and weekends. Shift durations are 8 hours with staggered start times such as 7am-3pm, 8am-4pm, 11am-7pm, 3pm-11pm, and 11pm-7am. Applicants must consider these timings prior to applying.

Main Duties

  • Cleaning walls, ceilings, lights, vents, and other surfaces throughout the hospital, sometimes requiring the use of ladders.
  • Vacuuming carpets and upholstered furniture thoroughly.
  • Executing all floor care tasks like mopping, stripping, refinishing, and buffing utilizing scrubbers, polishers, auto-scrubbers, wet vacuums, and chemicals.
  • Conducting terminal cleanings in surgical and delivery rooms as well as strict isolation areas.
  • Performing routine and discharge cleaning of patient rooms including stripping and bed or stretcher preparation.
  • Managing spill and flood cleanups and handling waste collection in cooperation with the Sanitary Collector when necessary.
  • Operating and maintaining cleaning supplies and equipment safely following departmental guidelines.
  • Being available for all scheduled shifts and potential call-ins.
  • Engaging in physical activities including extended standing, walking, lifting, and climbing with proper methods.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Completion of secondary school diploma or certification as a Project Search graduate.
  • Proficiency with computers, especially Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within team environments.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills coupled with good organizational abilities.
  • Capability to foster positive relationships, exhibiting professionalism, tact, courtesy, and alertness both face-to-face and via telephone interactions.
  • Alignment with the hospital’s Mission, Vision, Values, and standards of conduct.
  • Willingness and ability to work all shifts across the week.
