About the Role
We are looking for skilled Civil Drivers to join well-established civil contracting teams involved in diverse infrastructure projects throughout Wellington. The role combines driving duties with on-site operational support, offering steady work opportunities in sectors such as roading, earthworks, and civil infrastructure.
You will operate alongside reputable contractors within organized crews, facilitating project progress by transporting materials, moving aggregates, delivering equipment, and assisting in daily site activities.
Compensation and Benefits
- Standard civil drivers earn between $30 and $35 per hour.
- Experienced drivers specializing in machinery transport or tipping receive $34 to $40 per hour.
- Continuous work availability through ongoing civil projects.
- Exposure to a variety of project types including roads, earthmoving, and infrastructure development.

Key Duties
- Transporting aggregates and bulk materials to and from construction sites.
- Supporting civil crews with everyday site operations.
- Moving plant machinery and equipment as needed.
- Performing tipping tasks and shifting bulk materials.
- Contributing across various project kinds including roads and earthworks.
- Ensuring all driving is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulations.
- Providing general labor and site assistance when necessary.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold a Class 2 to Class 5 driver's license.
- Previous experience in civil construction or related environments is preferred.
- Experience with tipping, machinery transport, or bulk materials movement is highly advantageous.
- Possession of a WTR endorsement is a significant benefit.
- Strong comprehension of civil site procedures and safety standards.
