Class 2 Driver

Job Summary

We are looking for a reliable and skilled Class 2 Driver to join our team in Northampton, England. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating commercial vehicles, primarily flatbed trucks, to transport goods safely and punctually to various locations. This role requires a commitment to safety, customer service, and efficient delivery operations within a high-energy logistics environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate Class 2 commercial vehicles, including flatbed trucks, strictly following traffic laws and safety procedures.
• Load, secure, and unload cargo carefully to maintain the condition of goods throughout transport.
• Perform thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and readiness.
• Plan and execute the most efficient delivery routes to meet scheduled deadlines.
• Maintain clear and timely communication with dispatchers and customers to manage delivery coordination and quickly address any challenges.
• Keep detailed records of deliveries, mileage, fuel use, and vehicle maintenance requirements.
• Adhere to company policies focused on safe driving and proper cargo handling.

Qualifications and Experience

• Demonstrated experience as a delivery driver, ideally operating flatbed or similar commercial vehicles.
• Holds a valid Class 2 driving license with a clean driving history.
• Knowledge of commercial driving rules and safety standards.
• Track record of punctuality, reliability, and professionalism in delivery roles.
• Proficiency with route planning tools and GPS navigation technologies.
• Capability to perform the physical demands of loading and unloading cargo.

Additional Information

The position is an on-site, full-time role based in Northampton. Pay ranges from £17.00 to £19.00 per hour. We seek candidates who are motivated team players focused on safety and excellent service, contributing to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
