Civil Structural Engineer

Overview

Shafa Group in Dubai is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer specializing in Civil Design and Estimation to join their building division. The successful candidate will excel at structural design, quantity estimation, BOQ preparation, and tendering processes within the construction domain.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and verify structural designs, engineering calculations, and drawings relevant to building and civil infrastructure projects.
• Conduct structural analyses and design reinforced concrete and steel frameworks.
• Generate quantity take-offs, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and comprehensive cost estimates for projects.
• Critically evaluate tender documents, blueprints, specifications, and project criteria.
• Formulate material quantity lists, perform rate analyses, and develop cost breakdowns to support tender submissions.
• Liaise effectively with architects, MEP engineers, consultants, and project teams to solve technical challenges.
• Assess materials and explore alternative design options to reduce expenses without compromising quality.
• Ensure adherence to relevant design codes, standards, and contractual specifications.
• Assist the tender team in compiling technical and commercial proposals.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; possessing a Structural Engineering degree is advantageous.
• At least 10 to 12 years of experience in the GCC region focusing on structural design and estimation related to construction.
• Expertise in reinforced concrete and structural steel design principles.
• Proficiency with structural engineering software such as ETABS, STAAD.Pro, SAFE, or similar tools.
• Competent in AutoCAD and MS Excel or comparable estimation software.
• Demonstrated skill in preparing BOQs, quantity take-offs, conducting cost estimations, and managing tendering procedures.
• Ability to accurately interpret structural drawings, technical standards, and contract documents.
• Strong analytical thinking, numerical aptitude, coordination, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Effective communication skills both written and verbal.
