Overview

SSO Personnel is seeking a seasoned Civil Foreman to join a prominent Irish civil engineering and construction company in Cork. This permanent role presents a fantastic chance to work on diverse civil engineering and construction projects as the company experiences growth and a robust project pipeline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate all civil construction activities at the site daily.
  • Manage laborers, subcontractors, plant machinery, and materials on site to ensure smooth operations.
  • Ensure all works align with project drawings, specifications, and schedule requirements.
  • Track project progress and provide regular updates to the Site and Project Managers.
  • Maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance throughout the site.
  • Lead daily site briefings and conduct toolbox talks to communicate essential information.
  • Implement and monitor quality assurance procedures, ensuring project milestones are met.
  • Proactively identify problems on site and implement effective solutions.
  • Coordinate with engineers, surveyors, clients, and other key stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Keep thorough and accurate records, reports, and documentation of site activities.

Candidate Requirements

  • At least five years of experience in a civil engineering or construction Foreman role.
  • Expertise in groundworks, infrastructure, roads, utilities, drainage, or reinforced concrete projects.
  • Proven leadership skills with a track record of motivating and managing site teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction methods, sequencing processes, and site logistics.
  • Strong awareness of health and safety laws and industry best practices.
  • Capability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications accurately.
  • Possession of a full, clean driving licence.
  • Outstanding communication and organizational abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Trade-related experience or qualifications in construction.
  • Certifications including Safe Pass, Manual Handling, and Working at Heights.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Experience managing large-scale civil or infrastructure projects.
