About Jacobs and the Role

In this position, you will lead project delivery, design management, and project management, contributing to securing and executing projects across various services. Collaborating extensively with commercial teams, project managers, engineers, and design specialists, you will enable Jacobs to effectively plan, develop, implement, and maintain diverse projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out all traditional elements of civil engineering and technical analysis with proficiency.
- Plan and execute tasks requiring independent judgment in selecting and adapting engineering methods and criteria.
- Apply strong engineering judgment and problem-solving capabilities, ensuring meticulous attention to quality and detail.
- Thoroughly review and verify your work and that of others for accuracy and compliance.
- Assess construction documents to confirm alignment with client standards, company policies, and jurisdictional regulations.
- Manage your workload responsibly, meeting commitments and taking ownership of assigned projects; capable of leading teams of varying sizes.
- Define your scope clearly, accurately estimate effort, recognize scope changes, and escalate appropriately.
- Request assistance when needed, and delegate tasks to junior engineers as suitable.
- Demonstrate excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and training to less experienced engineers.
- Drive improvements in workflows, tools, and systems within the civil engineering discipline, embracing new technologies.
- Support projects in other locations if required, including temporary assignments.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in manufacturing project engineering.
- Prior exposure to semiconductor, data center, or general industrial facilities projects is advantageous.
- Proficiency with Navisworks and Bluebeam software.
- Strong expertise in analysis and design of medium to large-scale industrial developments, including:
- Site development, master planning, and site selection.
- Routing of underground utilities and spatial planning using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Hydrology analysis to design stormwater drainage systems.
- Design of gravitational wastewater systems using AutoCAD Civil 3D and Bentley software (StormCAD, WaterCAD, WaterGEMS, or equivalents).
- Design of pressurized water and gas piping networks.
- Preparation of final grading plans, including cut and fill calculations, mass excavation, and rough grading via AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Development of erosion control, sediment control, and stormwater pollution prevention plans to support permitting.
- Wetland mitigation and permit application support.
- Complying with local jurisdictional requirements and building codes.
- Expertise with hydrology analysis techniques including HEC, TR-55, and Rational Methods.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
