Company Overview and Role Summary
GFX Securities, based in Manama, Bahrain, is seeking a full-time Chief Risk Officer to lead the creation and management of the organization's enterprise risk framework, ensuring protection against market, credit, and operational risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and implement thorough risk management policies strictly compliant with Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) regulations.
- Continuously monitor daily fluctuations in market conditions, liquidity concerns, and exposures to counterparties.
- Perform stress tests and scenario analyses on the brokerage’s investment portfolios.
- Serve as the main liaison with the CBB for all risk-related audits and inquiries.
Qualifications and Experience Required by CBB
- Advanced academic degree in Finance, Economics, or related quantitative disciplines.
- Possession of a recognized professional certification in risk such as FRM, PRM, or preferably CFA credentials.
- At least eight years of substantial experience in risk management within a brokerage or banking institution.
- Comprehensive expertise in the CBB regulatory framework along with familiarity with international standards for risk management.
