Chief Operating Officer (COO) - Laundry Services

Overview

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) will spearhead the entire operational framework of our laundry service business in Saudi Arabia. The key focus is transforming the commercial strategy into a reliable, scalable, and cost-effective operating model driven by customer satisfaction. The COO will oversee all facets of operational performance, including central laundry, branch outlets, logistics, maintenance, procurement, quality assurance, health and safety, workforce productivity, and budget compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the complete operational cycle from order collection through cleaning, inspection, packing, to delivery, ensuring consistent high service standards and addressing operational bottlenecks.
• Supervise the Central Laundry Operations Manager and production teams by setting performance targets around capacity, throughput, quality, cost, and productivity.
• Implement and maintain asset reliability programs for all machinery and infrastructure, enforcing proactive maintenance and strategic capital investment decisions.
• Develop procurement and supplier strategies focusing on materials and chemicals that balance quality, consumption efficiency, and total cost of ownership.
• Standardize operations across customer-facing branches, guaranteeing service quality, staff coordination, and operational readiness for expansion.
• Optimize logistics and fleet management to ensure efficient pickup, delivery, routing, and transportation cost control supporting business growth.
• Set company-wide quality benchmarks, monitor complaint metrics, and resolve recurring issues without over-reliance on compensation.
• Own operational budgeting processes and collaborate with executive leadership to establish forecasts, capital expenditure, and cost-saving initiatives.
• Lead and develop senior operational leadership teams with defined KPIs, clear accountability, and alignment on recruitment, training, and succession.
• Evaluate operational needs for expansion initiatives, ensuring resources, equipment, and investments are suitably planned before scaling.
• Promote adoption of technology solutions such as ERP, POS, production tracking, preventive maintenance, inventory control, and data dashboards to drive data-driven decisions.
• Ensure full HSE compliance with regulatory standards covering chemical handling, equipment safety, fire precautions, employee health, and environmental controls.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or a related field.
• Extensive professional experience of 12 to 15 years in operations-heavy organizations, including a minimum of 5 years in senior operational leadership roles like COO, Operations Director, or General Manager.
• Track record managing large teams, diverse operational functions, and substantial budgets.
• Strong skills in profit and loss management, procurement, asset maintenance, workforce productivity, and operational KPI monitoring.
• Experience in industrial or commercial laundry operations is highly desirable; candidates with backgrounds in similar high-volume service or processing sectors will be considered.
• Operational experience within Saudi Arabia or the Gulf Cooperation Council region is a significant advantage.
• Fluency in Arabic and English languages is preferred.
