Role Overview

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a full-time, on-site leadership position based in Dar es-Salaam tasked with overseeing all financial activities of the company. Key responsibilities include directing financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasts, and cash flow management while ensuring adherence to local laws and international standards. Daily duties encompass managing accounting operations, evaluating financial statements, handling audits, and instituting robust internal controls and risk management systems. The CFO will also provide strategic financial insights to the executive team, oversee capital deployment and investment evaluations, and assist business development efforts through financial modeling and scenario planning. Additional responsibilities involve cultivating and guiding the finance team, streamlining financial operations, and promoting a culture of accountability and high performance.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Comprehensive knowledge of financial management and accounting, including expertise in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow oversight, and financial statement reporting.
  • Strong capabilities in financial analysis, modeling, and strategic planning to aid leadership decisions and facilitate sustained growth.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance, taxation, audits, and internal control procedures, preferably within Tanzanian or comparable regulatory frameworks.
  • Proven leadership in managing finance teams, driving operational enhancements, and deploying efficient financial systems and technologies.
  • Background in corporate finance, investment appraisal, and risk management in multi-entity or holding company contexts.
  • Superb communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with competence in cross-department collaboration and clear presentation of complex data.
  • Relevant academic credentials such as a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline; professional certifications like CPA, ACCA, or CFA are advantageous.
  • Prior tenure in senior financial leadership roles, ideally as CFO, Finance Director, or a similar capacity within medium to large enterprises.
