Role Overview

The Chief Estimator position at our Montreal office involves directing the entire estimating process for construction and infrastructure projects across Canada. Key duties include preparing precise and competitive cost evaluations, enhancing bidding strategies, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams, and ensuring synergy between Canadian sites and the Italian headquarters.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead estimating duties for tenders, proposals, and early project phases.
• Analyze tender documents, drawings, and contracts to produce accurate cost estimates.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, Operations, Commercial teams, and external partners to collect inputs.
• Develop and verify quantity take-offs, pricing approaches, risk evaluations, and estimate reports.
• Supervise and coach the estimating team to maintain accuracy and company standards.
• Assist with bid assessments and facilitate management approval processes.
• Establish and maintain partnerships with subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants to secure competitive pricing.
• Align estimating activities between Canadian operations and the Italian corporate office.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years of experience in construction or infrastructure estimating, including leadership roles.
• Demonstrated ability in estimating large-scale and complex infrastructure projects.
• Deep understanding of both public and private procurement frameworks.
• Strong analytical skills, commercial acumen, and experience in project management.
• Fluency in English and French; Italian language proficiency is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this role is between $140,000 and $180,000, depending on the project assigned.
