Chief Engineer

About the Role

Minor Food, a prominent and fast-growing global restaurant operator with a portfolio covering over 2,700 outlets in 25 countries, seeks a Chief Engineer for its Sharjah Collection hotels. The company manages celebrated brands like The Pizza Company, Swensen's, Burger King, and more, aiming to provide outstanding customer experiences by expanding and innovating across new markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all engineering and maintenance functions within the hotel.
• Design and execute preventive maintenance plans to maximize asset performance.
• Ensure full adherence to health, safety, fire, environmental, and relevant local regulations.
• Handle departmental budgets, manage maintenance contracts, and supervise capital expenditure initiatives.
• Monitor utilities, promote energy efficiency, and drive sustainability programs to optimize operations.
• Manage renovation, repair, and engineering projects, ensuring minimal inconvenience for guests.
• Guide and develop the engineering team to maintain high standards of performance and service.
• Work closely with other departments to support daily hotel functions and enhance guest satisfaction.

Candidate Requirements

• Possess a bachelor's degree or diploma in Engineering or a related technical field.
• Have at least 8 to 10 years of experience in engineering within the hospitality sector, including a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
• Demonstrate thorough knowledge of building systems, MEP, HVAC, fire and life safety systems, and hotel maintenance practices.
• Exhibit strong leadership, project management, budgeting, and communication capabilities.
• Familiarity with local laws and sustainability best practices will be advantageous.
