Job Overview
As a Chief Engineer at our hotel, you will play a vital role in not just maintaining the physical infrastructure and systems, but also enhancing the guest experience by ensuring all technical operations run smoothly. This role emphasizes leading a skilled engineering team while upholding safety, compliance, and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit, train, supervise, and mentor engineering staff to build and maintain a motivated and competent team, conducting regular performance assessments and facilitating professional growth.
- Ensure all building, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and life safety systems are maintained, inspected regularly, and comply with national and local safety regulations.
- Manage daily maintenance operations including prioritizing tasks, verifying completion through property management systems, and promptly addressing service requests, guest issues, and emergencies.
- Support capital improvement projects by coordinating scheduling, budgeting, bidding processes, licensing, and regulatory compliance.
- Develop and implement energy conservation initiatives to optimize utility usage and reduce operational costs.
- Track engineering department performance metrics, such as equipment maintenance, audit outcomes, and team productivity, and take action to enhance operational excellence.
- Collaborate with hotel leadership to oversee safety protocols including evacuation procedures and duty manager coverage.
