Job description
Position Overview
The Chef de Partie is responsible for preparing specialized dishes or substitutions, carefully regulating oven, broiler, grill, and roaster temperatures, and managing food thawing processes. The role ensures correct portion sizes, artistic food presentation, and maintenance of food logs. It involves supervising food quality and quantity during preparation, communicating support needs during busy times, and informing the Chef and Food & Beverage team about excess food for daily specials and menu item availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Cook and prepare food following recipes, quality, and presentation standards, including cold foods.
- Collaborate with management on employee hiring, training, scheduling, evaluation, counseling, discipline, motivation, and coaching, acting as a role model.
- Adhere to all company, safety, and security protocols; report maintenance issues, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions.
- Maintain professional and clean uniforms and personal appearance, safeguard confidential and proprietary information, and protect company assets.
- Anticipate guest service requirements and communicate clearly and professionally with team members.
- Develop positive working relationships within the team to support shared goals and respond appropriately to colleagues' concerns.
- Observe quality expectations and standards rigorously.
- Be physically capable of standing, sitting, walking for extended periods, and performing movements like bending, twisting, lifting objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
- Perform additional tasks as directed by supervisors.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree.
- Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience in similar roles.
- No prior supervisory experience required.
