Job Purpose

The role is dedicated to ensuring precise, safe, and compliant warehouse handling by confirming the correctness of picked and received stock, preserving product quality and traceability, supporting inventory control measures, and enforcing health, safety, and cleanliness protocols as per company standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Verify stock accuracy by checking quantities, batch numbers, expiry dates, pallet conditions, and associated documentation.
• Manage inventory accuracy by updating bin cards, performing stock and cycle counts, and conducting traceability assessments.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and company guidelines including allergen management, stock rotation, proper stacking, and hygiene standards.
• Identify and document damaged stock and pallets, ensuring appropriate disposal and accountability to reduce warehouse losses.
• Maintain detailed warehouse records such as receiving reports, picking lists, loading documentation, and handling of CHEP pallet transactions.
• Confirm accurate receipt and dispatch by validating stock details, quantities, labeling, pallet numbers, and vehicle loading.
• Collaborate with picking and forklift teams to facilitate effective picking and storage activities.
• Ensure that loads are correctly prepared, verified, and documented, including taking photos when necessary.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe warehouse environment that is always ready for audits.
• Support compliance with operational protocols, human resources policies, and equipment inspections.
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts and help meet daily operational goals.
• Perform additional tasks as required by business needs.

Experience and Qualifications

• Between two and three years of experience as a picker or forklift operator within an FMCG warehouse setting.
• Completion of Grade 12 (Matric certificate) is required.

Skills and Competencies

• Exceptional numerical and precision-checking abilities.
• Strong communication, coordination, and issue escalation skills.
• Capability to perform under pressure and maintain accuracy.
• Ability to spot discrepancies, damages, and variances effectively.
• High attention to detail in all tasks.

Working Conditions

• Fast-paced and pressure-intensive environment.
• Manufacturing/factory settings.
• Willingness to work beyond usual business hours when required.
