Role Overview

The Product Safety Certifier II at CSA Group Bangalore is tasked with delivering expert certification services aligned with product safety standards. This role demands extensive knowledge and experience to interpret relevant standards, enabling sound technical decisions to uphold CSA’s certification integrity worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage multiple certification projects independently while ensuring adherence to applicable safety requirements, completing tasks within established timeframes and budgets.
• Evaluate industrial products against national and international standards and prior decisions for compliance.
• Handle complex, revenue-generating projects across a broad spectrum.
• Consistently deliver projects and tests on schedule.
• Effectively manage project costs and maintain productivity per organizational expectations.
• Review colleagues' work and oversee witness testing according to divisional quality standards.
• Analyze test data and authorize the use of the CSA Mark by preparing certification reports and compliance certificates.
• Assist clients in resolving issues without exposing proprietary information.
• Collaborate with sales teams to support existing clients and cultivate new business opportunities.
• Prepare project quotations covering costs and timelines.
• Educate clients on certification programs and production control requirements.
• Develop test lab work orders and special testing documentation detailing standards, sampling plans, data collection methodology, hazard analyses, and instructions.
• Guide lab technicians in proper procedure application and data collection consistent with standards.
• Perform standard testing procedures within CSA laboratories and conduct field visits to witness testing at manufacturing sites.
• Engage in continuous improvement initiatives, internal audits, and generate safety and efficiency recommendations.
• Stay thoroughly updated on all relevant national and international standards, proposing revisions to ensure technical consistency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with approximately 5 years of relevant work experience, or a Diploma in Engineering with about 7 years of related experience.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Comprehensive familiarity with North American, Canadian, and IEC safety standards, especially in industrial product testing and certification.
• Some background in Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC), ideally within the industrial sector, or experience in manufacturing.

Preferred Expertise

• Knowledge of CSA certification services across various equipment categories.
• Experience with competing organizations in this field or sector.
