As a CDL Examiner with Werner Enterprises' Roadmaster Drivers School, you will be responsible for conducting Commercial Driver's License (CDL) examinations in strict compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations alongside company protocols. Responsibilities

• Act as quasi-state employees by administering CDL exams in accordance with state, federal, and company policies
• Operate and ensure safe handling of testing vehicles during exams, with authority to intervene if vehicle operation is deemed unsafe
• Maintain exam integrity across pre-trip inspections, basic skills tests, and over-the-road assessments, safeguarding all test materials and manuals
• Report any irregularities or errors in testing to your supervisor promptly
• Participate in all required refresher training and stay current with testing procedures
• Uphold professionalism and high ethical standards, treating all candidates, colleagues, and third-parties with respect and dignity
• Complete and submit all evaluations, forms, and reports related to CDL testing accurately and on time
• Provide assistance to the training department when possible, adhering to regulatory guidelines

Qualifications

• Hold a valid CDL Class A Commercial Driver's License with all necessary endorsements as per company requirements
• Maintain a clean driving record without moving violations in the last three years
• Possess a minimum of three years’ experience in over-the-road or local commercial driving or meet alternative company-approved criteria
• Be capable of passing and sustaining a DOT physical examination compliant with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration standards
• Successfully complete DOT drug screening, including hair follicle testing, and comply with ongoing post-accident, random, and suspicion-based testing policies
• Currently possess or have the ability to acquire all required local, state, and federal certifications to serve as a CDL Examiner
• Have at least a high school diploma or GED and demonstrate effective verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills
• Exhibit the physical, intellectual, and leadership competencies necessary for the role
