Job description

Position Overview

The CCTV Operator role entails operating surveillance systems actively to protect personnel, assets, and infrastructure at client sites located throughout South India. This position involves continuous real-time monitoring, detection and reporting of incidents, supporting emergency protocols through integration with access control systems, and detailed event documentation.

Primary Duties

  • Supervise live camera feeds continuously from control rooms covering multiple zones and critical areas such as entrances, lobbies, warehouses, and data centers.
  • Provide immediate notifications to on-site security leads upon observing suspicious behaviors, safety breaches, or emergencies.
  • Respond swiftly to abnormal occurrences like intrusions, fire alarms, unauthorized presence, or loitering incidents.
  • Manage video evidence carefully and provide incident footage to authorized teams following strict custody protocols.
  • Assist site personnel during live incidents through visual guidance via CCTV.
  • Oversee access control events where CCTV connects with barriers, biometric systems, or turnstiles, verifying identity and authorization per client protocols and flagging violations such as tailgating.
  • Ensure footage is recorded timely and securely stored according to retention policies; retrieve archival videos when requested and log all access and transfers accurately.
  • Perform routine equipment inspections on cameras, recording devices, monitors, and backup power systems; report faults and coordinate repairs with technical support or vendors.
  • Keep comprehensive logs of control room activity, handover reports, and incidents; prepare regular security summaries documenting observations and alerts.
  • Adhere to confidentiality requirements, restricting sharing of sensitive surveillance data.

Eligibility and Skills Required

  • Minimum education: Completion of 12th grade. Diplomas in Electronics, IT, or Computer Applications are advantageous.
  • Possess between 1-3 years’ experience operating CCTV or working within control rooms, ideally in environments such as malls, tech parks, industrial sites, hospitals, or logistics centers.
  • Age range from 21 to 45 years.
  • Proficient in English and regional languages per location, including Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, or Malayalam.
  • Basic computer literacy including MS Word, Excel, and CCTV software operation.
  • Strong situational awareness and alertness.
  • Familiar with analog/IP camera technology, DVR/NVR setups, and video management software platforms.
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound judgments in stressful situations.
  • Effective communication and teamwork capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ethics, confidentiality, and integrity.
  • Willingness to work 12-hour rotating shifts covering days and nights.

Work Environment and Conditions

  • Scheduled shifts range from 8 to 12 hours with rotation between day and night.
  • Work takes place indoors within air-conditioned control rooms.
  • Uniform and identification cards provided as per client/site policy.
  • Work on holidays or weekends may be required depending on roster.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary aligns with the Minimum Wages for the Skilled category across states including Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Kerala.

Career Progression
