Position Overview
South Lanarkshire Council's Housing & Technical Resources is recruiting a CCTV Assistant based at the Hamilton Business Unit. This permanent part-time role involves working 37 hours per week with a shift pattern alternating weekly schedules including early mornings, afternoons, evenings, and overnight shifts. The annual salary range for this position is £40,763 to £41,959.
Role Purpose
The CCTV Assistant will be responsible for overseeing the monitoring and operation of CCTV systems to promote safer community environments. Serving as the primary point of contact for Police Scotland's local Area Control Room and various Council departments, you will support crime detection and the prevention of anti-social behavior. The role also includes managing after-hours security monitoring for Council properties.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate, assign, and supervise tasks within the CCTV Control Centre and support personnel, including performing formal line management duties in compliance with Council HR policies.
- Ensure the secure operation and control of CCTV equipment and maintain all operational records according to established procedures.
- Serve as the initial contact for reporting and addressing faults in CCTV systems from internal departments.
- Conduct annual maintenance inspections of Council properties with CCTV installations to verify functionality and adherence to GDPR standards.
- Adapt to shifting priorities while maintaining high-quality service delivery.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
Applicants must demonstrate strong organizational and prioritization capabilities, effective communication proficiency, and solid IT skills. Experience in managing teams, handling technical systems, and collaborating with stakeholders is essential.
