Role Description

You will be the decision maker determining which new trading card releases, tabletop games, model kits, and collectible items are included in the product range. This position demands both a deep understanding of the hobbyist market and strong commercial leadership skills.

Managing the Hobbies & Collectibles portfolio, you will shape the product strategy, foster partnerships with specialized suppliers, stay ahead of product trends, releases, and the passion of the communities that drive the market demand.

In this role, you’ll manage finances by overseeing revenue, profit margins, stock levels, and overall profitability. Strategic investment decisions and product lifecycle management will be critical to your success.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement category strategies to drive growth in revenue, market share, and profitability.
• Manage the category’s profit and loss, purchasing budgets, margins, and key commercial performance indicators.
• Curate and optimize product ranges, improve SKU performance, and identify new growth opportunities.
• Lead supplier negotiations to secure product allocations and enhance trading terms.
• Conduct demand forecasting, plan inventories, improve stock turnover, and reduce aged inventory.
• Design and execute promotional campaigns, product launches, and pre-order strategies.
• Analyze market trends, customer behaviors, and competitor actions to inform business decisions.
• Collaborate closely with marketing, merchandising, logistics, and demand planning teams to achieve business goals.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proven experience managing categories end-to-end within retail or eCommerce settings, including full P&L responsibility.
• Track record of enhancing revenue, profit margins, profitability, inventory efficiency, and supplier partnerships.
• Background in hobbies, collectibles, toys, gaming, or trading card games is highly valued; candidates with experience in consumer electronics or general retail will also be considered.
• Strong aptitude in supplier relationship management, negotiation skills, and commercial judgment.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and data analytics to support forecasting, product range decisions, and inventory management.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with proactive work ethic and passion for niche and community-focused product areas.
